Mission Statement
The Hill Farm Historical Society's mission is to share the rich and unique history of James J. Hill's North Oaks Farm through preservation of the Hill Farm National Historic Site, and, to tell the story of the role the farm played in the development of agriculture and Hill's Great Northern Railroad from Minnesota to the Pacific Northwest.

Donations and Membership Opportunities

Picture
The Hill Farm Historical Society  offers two types of memberships:

Annual - A membership drive is conducted in May to solicit renewed and new memberships.  A $35 annual individual and family membership includes free admission to HFHS on-site events, two tickets for ice cream treats at the Ice Cream Social, five tickets for Farm Fest activities, and a reduced charge for the Spring Dinner.  Member names, events, and news are included in the Hill Farm News, a newsletter published by HFHS and mailed to all North Oaks residents.

Lifetime - A lifetime membership is $1,000 contributed at one time.

The $35 annual membership income supports annual operating expenses.  HFHS relies on contributions above and beyond the annual dues to restore and maintain the buildings located on the historic Hill Farm site.  HFHS is presently developing and installing interpretive and interactive exhibits to show how the buildings and farm were used during James J. Hill's ownership from 1883 to 1916, and subsequently his son Louis Sr. and grandson Louis Jr. until the North Oaks Farm transitioned to become the City of North Oaks in the 1950's.

To become a member of HFHS, please make your tax-deductible contribution payable to: "Hill Farm Historical Society" and mail it to Tami McNeil, 87 East Pleasant Lake Road, North Oaks, MN 55127.  You may call Tami with any additional questions at 651.486.7091.
