We are pleased to announce that our 2024 Spring Dinner will be held the evening of May 17th at the North Oaks Golf Club. The social hour will begin at 5:30 PM with dinner at 6:30 PM. Following the dinner we will hear from our guest speaker, author and historian Jim Stolpestad. Mr. Stolpestad is author of Great Northern Iron: James J. Hill’s 109-Year Mining Trust. This is a fascinating story about the Great Northern Iron Ore Properties Trust, the brainchild of James J. Hill and his son in response to the Federal Government’s trust-busting efforts personally directed by President Teddy Roosevelt.  Two long-time residents of North Oaks played important roles in the creation and termination of the Trust.
