Hill Farm Historical Society will have, “Three Bold Ventures: The History of North Oaks” books available for purchase at our big events.

Three Bold Ventures, all so different and all occurring on the land that is now the city of North Oaks, documents Charles Gilfillan's and James J. Hill's ventures.  The third bold venture was Louis W. Hill, Jr.'s development of North Oaks Farm starting in 1950 into a residential community with emphasis on the retention of the natural environment. Written by long time residents Joan Brainard and Richard Leonard, this 230 page coffee table book has over 250 photos and maps to enhance the text.
